Catholic Community Services and Foster Care Programs

Alicia Lammers is a Licensed Clinical Social Work who has worked in child welfare for over a decade. She is excited to share about the unique International Foster Care program (IFC) at Catholic Community Services Southwest Washington. The goal is to provide a safe, nurturing foster care environment for youth who have fled their countries of origin. The program provides access to a comprehensive set of services including case management, education, legal, social and psychological supports all directed at achieving safety, stability and healthy development.

Youth come to us as immigrants, refugees, victims of trafficking from around the world. While these youth arrive in the United States through various means, they come to our program under the direction of the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).  All have been separated from their adult family members or do not have family members who are willing or able to care for them. Our objective is to provide a safe and stable environment for youth where they receive needed support services while pursuing family reunification or transition to independent living.
